Focusing on narrating young LGBTIQ+ people’s stories. The project involved photographing four subjects and recording a discussion first about their childhood fears, and then fears that relate to being LGBTIQ+ such as; body dysphoria and dysmorphia, mental health, discrimination and assault.
The subjects are all young people who live or study/work in Canberra. The stories you hear and read above were guided by open ended questions but were unscripted and followed by conversation.
My aim as the creator was to have a frank and honest discussion surrounding fears for LGBT+ folk without the fear of being judged.
Some names have been altered to protect the participants.
